Fundraising Ideas

Saving Faces relies upon the help of a wide variety of supporters in order to continue its work. Without their help and dedication, we would not be able to carry out our life-changing research projects. There are a number of ways in which you can support the work of Saving Faces, and fundraising can be one of the most rewarding and enjoyable.

One of our most valuable groups of fundraisers are students, who nationwide are raising money in all kinds of unique and inspiring ways. Fundraising can be not only a truly rewarding and satisfying experience in itself, but also looks great on your CV, and can be tailored to any individual or team's strengths and interests.

Saving Faces would like to say a huge thank you to all those who have been giving their time and money to help raise funds for us.

Adventures in Fundraising

Calling all cyclists, runners, trekkers, sky-divers, sailors, climbers, kayakers, mountaineers and would-be explorers!

For our more adventurous supporters, there are lots of resources out there to help you with your ambition to scale a mountain or hurl yourself out of plane.

Learn more about Discover Adventure and the challenges they offerDiscover Adventure specialises in fundraising trekking and cycling challenges and has been running worldwide trips since 1994.

If you've ever wanted to hike to Everest Base camp, cycle the length of the Great Wall of China, or trek through the jungles of Borneo, then Discover Adventure can help (and all for a good cause too)!

A little closer to home, Discover Adventure also runs 1-day Trekathons, marathon-length treks through some of the most beautiful and historic places the British Isles has to offer. But be warned, while it may not be on par with climbing Kilimanjaro  hiking 26 miles in one day is no picnic.

Learn more about Do It For Charity

And that's just for starters.

From treks to fun runs, sky-diving to white-water rafting, there's bound to be something to appeal to your personal sense of adventure and for all levels of fitness.

Learn more about World ExpeditionsWorld Expeditions has 35 years experience organising adventure holidays in the farthest-flung corners of the globe! Since 1997 they have been using their expertise to organise a range of exciting charity challenges.

You can join one of their open challenges, such as trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu or perhaps you'd perfer to test your endurance with an 11-day cycle challenge around the "Golden Triangle" of India. If you have a large group of like-minded adrenaline junkies and would like to arrange an exclusive Saving Faces challenge, contact us and we'd be happy to discuss this option with you.

Once you've decided which epic adventure you plan on undertaking, don't forget to let us know! We'd love to hear from you and would like to support in any way we can.

Saving Faces Restaurant Scheme

Do you own or run a restaurant, or are you on friendly terms with the staff of your favourite eatery? Saving Faces is launching a new restaurant giving scheme and would appreciate your help.

How does it work? A small, elegant table card is placed on each table in your restaurant. It tells the customer a little about the charity and that a voluntary 25p will be added by the restaurant to the table's bill at the end of the meal. It also explains that the customer is free to opt out if they wish.

The administrative burden is very small, as the use of electronic tills makes the adding a donation very straightforward. You can even allocate a button on your till to Saving Faces if you wish.

The 25p donation is added to the bill after the service charge and VAT, so it does not affect the restaurant's VAT returns.

The scheme is a very cost efficient way for your restaurant to fulfil a social and community responsibility.

If you are interested in joining our scheme, please contact us for more details.
