Popadum Challenge

Samantha Jones, Connor Sargent, Shah Ahmed and Neil Sargent are ready for the challengeAre you ready to face the Popadom Challenge?

Restaurant owner Shah Ahmed came up with a truly novel way to support Saving Faces after his Mum was diagnosed with cancer.

Each Monday in April, visitors to his restaurant on Raleigh High Street can join the competition to eat as many popadoms as possible in 10 minutes!

This unusual event grabbed the attention of local media, and the story appeared in the Echo on the 6th of February. You can read the full article here.

Pictured alongside Mr Ahmed are Saving Faces patient Connor Sargent with Mum, Samantha and Dad, Neil, who came along with mouth cancer patient Jaginder Singh Mann (not pictured) to show their support.

If you think you have what it takes to compete in the Popadom Challenge, register your interest here.

Saving Faces Cycle Challenge 2012

The 2012 Saving Faces Family Cycle Day will take place on Sunday the 10th of June at the Redbrdge Cycle Centre in Hainault.

Last year 150 people from 3 years of age to 75 cycled and raised £45,000 for our revolutionary new Study Centre which will determine best treatment for all patients worldwide. This year join us for a great day out at the same time as helping us raise even more funds.

Redbridge Cycle Centre - Forest Road near Ilford (IG6 3HP):

  • 7.5 miles from junction 27 of the M25.
  • 4 miles from junction 5 of the M11.
  • just off the A12 and North Circular.

Set your own time or distance. There are three bike circuits for people of all abilities, and you can hop off for a rest at any time:

  • 1 km flat wide tarmac road for children and the less fit (like me!).
  • 1 km hilly tarmac road for the fitter cyclists.
  • 3.25 km mountain bike circuit for the adventurous.

When you register you can upload or send us a photo of yourself and/or your children and we will make a personalised poster for the workplace or school to help to gain sponsorship.

Read what one our young participants has to say and check out some of the fun from last year.
