Elliott
Bernerd has been well-known in the UK property industry for more than
30 years. He formed Chelsfield as a private company in 1986, taking
the company public in 1993. From 1998-2002 he served as
Chairman of the South Bank Board, and in recent years has been awarded honorary
fellowships of the Royal Institute of British Architects and Trinity College of
Music.
Elliott
has had surgery for throat cancer. He says: People tend to forget the
dramatic effect that problems of the face can cause. Saving Faces is
there to do something about this.
Simon Bentley
Simon Bentley is a Chartered
Accountant and was the Chairman and Chief Executive of Blacks Leisure Group plc
from 1989 until 2002.Since his departure from Blacks Leisure Group plc Simon
has taken on non-executive directorships in a number of different companies and
organisations. He is Chairman of Umberto Giannini and of You Me TV , a director of the women's
fashion brand and retailer Morgan, menswear retailer Speciality Retail Group
and has a variety of other commercial interests and positions. Simon had a serious accident in
January 2000 and has first-hand experience of the trauma of facial injury.
Patrick Magennis
Patrick Magennis is a
consultant maxillofacial surgeon working in Liverpool
at the University Hospital Aintree. He upgraded the Liverpool Head and Neck
Cancer Database in 1997 and has worked with the database user group over the
last seven years to great some prize-winning research.
Susan Tanner
Susan Tanner is a
registered Dental Specialist with a particular interest in Implant and
Restorative Dentistry.With her husband she has created a multidisciplinary
specialist environment where their team can offer treatment in implants, crown
and bridge, gum treatment, root canal treatment, dento-facial surgery and
family preventative dentistry.
Patricia Wicking
Patricia Wicking
is the Outpatient Manager and Senior Nurse in the Department of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery at St. Bartholomew's Hospital. She has previously
worked as a Dental Health Promoter in North and West London Boroughs, and as a
Health Education Officer for West Essex. She
was a course tutor for the National Examination Board for Dental Nurses, and
for the C&G Further Education Teaching Diploma.
Peter Hardee
Peter Hardee is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has extensive experience in dealing with both facial disease and injury.
Chris Waterman
Chris Waterman has spent almost all of his career working in the public sector, as a primary teacher, further education lecturer and as a policy officer for London Councils. From 2000 to February 2009 he was executive director of what is now the Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS) and was a member of many national policy groups. He is now editor of Children's Services Weekly and Children's Services Editor of Education Journal. A prolific writer and speaker, Chris now specialises in children's services issues. He established Investors in Families in 2007 and has recently set up Diagram, in order to produce and promote the use of diagrams to convey complex ideas in an accessible fashion.
Michael Simpson
I am an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who works with The Beds,Herts and Bucks Maxillofacial network mainly between Bedford and Luton and Dunstable Hospitals.I set up and ran two Head and Neck cancer MDTs for15 years and enjoy all types of surgery but particularly contact with the patients.Mr I Hutchinson talked me into playing waterpolo as an undergraduate(my 6 sons all now play) and he has done the same with Saving Faces , I am sure it will prove to be an honour and a privelage.

I am a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon based at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust. My main clinical interests are in the surgical management of Head and Neck cancer and the treatment of facial injuries. I have been a Consultant in Southampton since 1988. In 2009 I had the privilege of being the President of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.I consider it a particular privilege to be associated with Saving Faces.
